Day Rides in Tang Valley: Depending on your available time, you can do several day rides from Tang valley. Tang valley is remote and we suggest that you take one and half day ride with two nights stay in Guest House in Tang valley. These rides will bring you closer to several villages in the valley, that are not accessible by road.  With our local friends, you will be welcomed to visit their homes. Visit local schools and chat with the children, who are eager to practice their English.

Bumthang Cultural Trek:  This 3-day ride takes you along famous Bumthang Culture Trek route, exploring Tang valley’s villages, traversing Phephela pass into Chokhortse’s Ngalakhang and Nasphe village, and ending in Jakar. The trip can start either in Tang or Jakar. You can choose between camping or staying in Homestay/Guest House or staying one night in camp and one night in Guest House.

Kunzangdrak & Padtseling trek: This is one of finest traditional route that was abandoned once the farms arrived. However after surveying it, we have cleared the overgrown trails. Starting in Tang valley, where we have a full afternoon of familiarization, next day, ride uphill and then along the ridge towards cliffhanging temples and retreat houses of  Kunzangdrak, passing few scattered settlements at Nimalung and Jog.  Next day’s ride cuts along the ridge to our campsite at Padtseling monastery, with opportunity to see great views of the snowcapped peaks, along the way. From here, trail descends down steady into Jakar, ending our trek at Dorjeebe village. There is two nights of camping along the way and depending on your experience in riding, spend either one or two nights in Tang valley in a guest house or camp.

Bumthang Owl Trek: Bumthang Owl Trek offers an invigorating experience of the culture and environment. It is a moderate 3 day trekking route starting from Menchugang, north of Jakar. The trek can be planned to either end in Jakar or Chumey valley, depending on your touring plan. Only few, in small sections of the trail, you will be required to walk.

Combination trip: Bumthang Cultural trek can be combined with either Owl trek or Kunzangdrak to make it a 6 day beautiful ride for seasoned riders.
