As part of the election of ABTO Board of Directors for 2017 – 2019 during the upcoming 17th Annual General Meeting, the Secretariat would like to seek nomination of candidates for the Board of Director’s election.
Based on previous trends and in order for the Association to cater towards the needs of wider range of tour operators without any prejudice and to represent the industry in a wholesome manner, it was recommended that the Board’s composition should comprise from all levels of tour operators. As such, upon due consultation the following 3 Categories were formed as a basis for representation in the ABTO Board, based on an average number of tourists handled in the last 3 preceding years (2014, 2015 & 2016) by respective tour operators: –

Selection of right candidates for the ABTO Board of Directors is not only vital to manage the Association in the best interest of the general members but also to add value to this industry by ensuring that the Association continues to improve its services to the members and effective representations on behalf of the members. Right set of Directors through expert advice will make their wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field of business at the disposal of the Association. They form the image of the Association, hence ABTO’s credibility.
Further, ABTO Directors are represented at various Committees; notably the Tourism Council of Bhutan (TCB), Better Business Council (BBC), BCCI Board, Advisory Board of RITH and any technical committees formed by the Government in tourism. Therefore, for effective representation and utilization of industry’s presence in such important Committees and Boards, nomination and election of right candidates are of immense importance.
NOMINATED CANDIDATES/ COMPANY SHOULD HAVE CLEARED THEIR MEMBERSHIP DUES WITH ABTO.
