This is to kindly inform that the upcoming ABTO Club is rescheduled on the evening of 26th JANUARY 2018 over High tea, snacks and drinks followed by DINNER at Hotel LE-MERIDIEN, Thimphu.
In this regard, the Chairman, Board of Directors and Secretariat of ABTO would like to cordially invite preferably owners/proprietors since we will be launching TWO important online services systems [i.e. TOURISM MANAGEMENT AND INFORMATION SYSTEM (TIMS) and RURAL ECOTOURISM PRODUCTS AND SERVICES (REPS)] for tour operators. Both the online services systems are designed and being developed for the benefit of tour operation business. Besides, the informal gathering provides platform for brainstorming important issues, if any, concerning tour operation business.
Therefore, we would like to sincerely request if you could kindly confirm at the earliest possible for logistic arrangement.
TIMS is a service module software designed and being developed specifically for operating tour operation business online (salient features but not limited to tour management, tour costing, office accounts and administration, HR management, Vehicle Hiring/arrangement and management, logistic arrangement, ticketing and reservation and the ultimate aim is to access data using apps). So far we have completed tour management and tour costing including office accounts for launching and distribution to interested tour companies (free of cost) from January 2018 until June 2018 for live testing and fixing bugs, if any. During this period, the other modules will be simultaneous developed and accordingly built capacity of the tour operators/staff and thus build the system in a phase-wise manner so that tour operators have confidence in using the system. TIMS will have immense benefit to travel companies in terms of saving resources, overhead costs, improve business planning, decision making etc. BE THE EARLY BIRD TO REGISTER (Registration will open after launching).
REPS is a web-based system designed and being developed to showcase community-based/ecotourism products and services in a centralized platform. Currently, the homestay products and services from Phobjikha, Haa, and Ura are featured in the system for launching, which will be further enhanced and also additional rural tourism related products from across the country will be uploading on a regular basis so that tour operators then have multiple choice of reliable rural products for packaging and marketing.
Both the online systems are designed and being developed as part of value-added services for tour operators. Both the systems have no specific deadline for completion as change is inevitable and with changing time, we need to prepare to adapt and adjust in order to move forward.
Although, the club is an informal gathering, pertinent tourism issues, if any, can be discussed.
