1. Invitation for Familiarisation Trip to Phobjikha by RSPN

The RSPN under the Community – based Sustainable Tourism (CBST) Project in Phobjikha would be conducting a promotion and familiarization trip for interested tour operators and stakeholders to Phobjikha from 16th to 18th February 2014. The familiarization is being organized to give an opportunity for the participants to experience the new CBST services and facilities established in Phobjikha. This program will also be an opportunity for the local community tourism service providers to develop their market linkages and learn from the experiences and feedbacks shared by the participants.

The program and logistic arrangement will be supported by RSPN, however interested participants are requested to organize their own travel arrangements.

Itinerary for CBST Familiarization to Phobjikha

     Tentative Program
16th Feb. 2014 –       Travel from Thimphu – Phobjikha
–       Meeting with CBST Group Management Team

–       Meet the host family and check in homestays in Gangtay Gewog.

–       Participate in household activities.

–       Dinner in individual home-stays


17th Feb. 2014 –       Breakfast at individual homestays.

–       Hike along Ganju Trail to Gela village

–       Visit a Shaman’s house and Shing Gumji

–       Picnic lunch at Kilkhorthang  

–       Travel to Lawog valley

–       Participate in activities (wool shearing, wool weaving, basket weaving, etc…)

–       Checking in homestays

–       Dinner at homestays                                                                    


18th Feb. 2014 –       Breakfast in homestays

–       Gather at Tangchey shop area

–       Driver to Ganyul

–       Hike along Risu Lam

–       Pick up by vehicle at Gangphey

–       Lunch at campsite

–       Depart for Thimphu.
