The SAARC Business Association of Home based workers (SABAH Bhutan) has been established with funding assistance from the SAARC Development Fund (SDF) as part of the project “Strengthening Livelihood Initiatives of Home based workers in the SAARC Region”. SABAH Bhutan is registered in Bhutan with the Civil Society Organization Authority of Bhutan as a Public Benefit Organization for the promotion of the welfare of the home based workers and their skills, providing them better facilities for self sustained income and generation of employment; thereby uplifting the economic opportunity of the home based workers in Bhutan. SABAH Bhutan’s core competency lies in developing and producing an exclusive and high-end, authentic range of products that resonate with the image of Bhutan being exclusive, country of happiness and with clean pristine environmental conditions. The products will be developed from highly intricate hand woven textiles; an art form that has been passed on to many generations of home based women artisans of Bhutan.
