The Abode of the gods! Laden with perennial snow with its mighty peak shrouded high up in the clouds, this is the MIGHTY Gangkhar Puensum, the world's highest unclimbed mountain. Rising 7,570 meters (24,840 ft.) above sea level, this awe-inspiring natural edifice is a symbol of the awe and aura of a kingdom that is still very little known to the outside world.
Since 1994, Bhutan prohibited all mountaineering above 6,000 m (20,000 ft) due to spiritual/religious beliefs.
