The Ludlow's Bhutan Glory (Bhutanitis Ludlowi) was considered extinct since it was first spotted in 1930s in Bhutan. It was rediscovered 75 years later in 2009 in the lush green valley of Boomdeling in Trashiyangtse through a chance sighting. The species is endemic to Boomdeling and became the national butterfly of Bhutan in 2012.
